Confusion

There has been some confusion about my statement that I will separate guinea pigs if necessary. Let me clarify. Zoey, Carly, Harley, and Lacey all live together in one cage. I paired them up on this blog because that is how I received them. However, any of them can actually be adopted with any other one as they are all used to one another. I will only adopt single piggies to homes who already have a piggie as guinea pigs are social animals who need to live with another pig. I do hope that clarifies.

I kept seeing stuff by Christina, and I was thinking is this the same lady I know? Because she runs a sanctuary. I just wasn't sure. But I'm glad to see who you have in your rescue. We can all ban together and help each other out. I'm in between so if you and Jen need anything let me know.

Terms for adoptions

1) You must provide a suitable cage before I bring the piggie. The cage will be checked out by me and if it doesn't meet the requirements or 8 sq feet for one pig and 3 additional sq feet for each additional pig, I will bring the pig back to the rescue.

2) You must allow me to bring the piggie into your home and see where it will live. I will check to make sure there are no pigs of opposite sexes, no snakes or other animals that the pig might be used to feed, the size of the cage, location of cage, the food, hay, etc. Basically, I will do a home inspection.

3) You must agree to contact me if you ever need to rehome the pig and I will take her back, no questions asked.

4) You must give me a sample diet of what fruits and veggies you will feed your pig, what type of pellets and how much you will feed and where you will get your hay from.

5) You must provide me with the name and phone number of the vet you plan to use if you ever need to bring your piggie.

6) You must agree to never let a child, under the age of 8, hold the piggie unsupervised.

7) You must agree that the piggie's care will be the responsibility of an adult.

8) You must agree to give the piggie lots of time outside of her cage for floor time and lap time.

9) You must agree to make sure the piggies nails and coat will be looked after properly and demonstrate that you know how to clip her nails.

Adoption fees are $25 per pig and $40 for a pair. I will only allow 2 pigs per family as these pets do require a great deal of time and care. I will consider adopting a 3rd to a family who has alot of guinea pig experience. Please contact me at cfoster5@stny.rr.com if interested in any of our piggies.
